Hi There, I'm Judi Ward, designer, pattern maker, order filler, question answerer, and owner of Judi's Dolls. I will be your instructor on this adventure into cloth dollmaking. I have a well known doll pattern business with over 70 patterns available for the cloth dollmaker. There are patterns available for everything from a tiny 5" tall baby to a dragon, babies, kids, adults, silly characters, and antique look alikes, like a Bed Doll and Bi-Lo baby. There's even a great overstuffed chair! Some of my designs are for play and some are not, but all have detailed, collector quality construction methods, lots of innovative ideas and usually, several face designs to choose from. I recommend painting faces in my patterns. My pattern business is about 18 years old, but I did take a 5 year break to drive city transit busses! My pattern business went on the back burner for lack of time. I have written for doll magazines for about 18 years too, the first being a face design article for National Doll World in about 1980. I have written "how to" articles for The Cloth Doll Magazine since it's inception and am now writing for Soft Dolls And Animals on a regular basis. What I usually write about are ways for the "non designer" to learn tricks to start them on the road to doing their own designs, whether for faces, hair, clothing or the whole doll. Join us for a wonderful dollmaking experience. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please post them on the BlackBoard. Enjoy the class. Judi Ward
