“BLEUETTE” The first couple of pages are just photos, instead of a lot of text. Quite a departure for me! I usually talk way too much! This little "Alice Bleuette"(below) is with the molded face, over Sherry's mold. I Tweaked it some and took the cleft off. In the lessons, I will try to show corrections, and fixes, since "cloth over's" are a mystery to many, and a mistake can be devastating to a new dollmaker. Almost ANY "mistake" can be fixed quite easily! Really! I will make a head with a glue "mistake" and do a Gesso over face to fix it, as the last part of the class. You may actually want to do your doll this way first. It looks more like porcelain, and is a bit easier to paint the features on. This little "Alice Bleuette" is with the original head/face. Sherry Goshen's sculpt for Bleuette, next to a regular head made of Doesuede. She is very pouty, and soooo Sherry! When you do the painting yourself you will determine how pouty to make your doll. Remember, this little charmer does not need to look like any Bleuette in existence. She is your "Bleuette" sized doll, and is a fun, challenging, cloth doll to make, make clothes for, and dress. The picture above is about true to size. I asked Sherry to do the sculpt with ears, because I like for "cloth over's" to have the head back attached behind the ears, so that more hairstyles can be used. I just don't like the look of Cloth Over's with the attaching seam along the side of the face. It makes it so you have to hand sew ears on, or cover the area with hair. …It is just one of my many idiosyncrasies. Now that's a $50.00 word! Little Bleuette as " Alice in Wonderland" The clothes can be worn by a real Bleuette, a Cloth Bleuette with the regular face or the cloth Bleuette with the cloth over face. First we will make the clothes. I am not going to belabor the directions too much, as all of the clothes are very basic….But I will be sure to make the directions clear for all levels of dollmaker, since we have a number of brand new dollmakers in class. Now, this does not have to be Alice either….The dress, pantaloons, petticoat and pinafore can be used for soooo many different looks. How about a red dress for the Holidays? A pretty print for spring? The pinafore over the petticoat as a sun dress? There are lots of possibilities. Enjoy The Class! |
